With numerous local and state parks, preserves, forests, and other protected lands, you can always find a serene place to walk, bike, or kayak here. You may have heard of our famous manatees or crystal-clear springs, but we also have wonderful festivals and events happening throughout the year; excellent fishing; trails for walking, riding, and biking; and delicious local food. All of this is within an hour and half or shorter drive from Ocala, Tampa, or Gainesville, and there are also many great local shops within Citrus County.
